Soulspace Collective provides outdoor living design for homes throughout Sarasota and Florida's Gulf Coast, creating outdoor kitchens, covered lanais, poolside spaces, dining areas, and exterior gathering spaces that feel like natural extensions of the home.
We approach outdoor spaces with the same intention we bring inside — considering how people move, gather, cook, eat, relax, and connect, then translating those patterns into thoughtful decisions around layout, cabinetry, lighting, materials, furnishings, and finishes.
Because in Florida, life doesn't stop at the back door.
The spaces outside deserve to feel just as considered as the ones within it.
The house doesn't have to end at the back door.
An outdoor space can have everything it's supposed to have — a grill, a dining table, somewhere to sit — and still feel like somewhere you pass through rather than somewhere you want to stay.
We think about it differently.
Where do you naturally step outside? Where does everyone gather while someone is cooking? Does the dining area actually relate to the kitchen? Where does the afternoon sun land? What can you see from inside the house? Where do wet feet, towels, drinks, toys, and everything else that comes with living outside actually go?
Then we look at the relationships between those answers.
The circulation between inside and out. The proportion of furniture within an open space. The connection between interior and exterior materials. Lighting after the sun goes down. Storage where it's actually needed. Sightlines from the house toward the pool, landscape, or water beyond it.
Because an outdoor living space shouldn't feel like something added onto your home.
It should feel like somewhere your home naturally continues.

What We Consider
Space + FlowOutdoor spaces need circulation just as much as interiors do. We consider cooking, dining, lounging, entertaining, pool access, transitions from inside, and the paths people naturally take through the space to create layouts that feel effortless rather than simply furnished.
Materials + ElementsSun, rain, humidity, salt air, wet feet, and everyday use change the way materials need to perform outside. We consider cabinetry, countertops, flooring, lighting, finishes, furniture, and textiles for both how they contribute to the larger design and how they'll actually live in a Florida environment.
Inside + OutThe strongest outdoor spaces feel connected to the architecture and interiors around them. We consider sightlines, materials, color, proportion, furnishings, and transitions between inside and out so the exterior feels like part of the home rather than an entirely separate design.

This section is where we establish what you're actually capable of doing and differentiate it from basic furnishing.
An outdoor living space can function as a kitchen, dining room, living room, entertaining space — and sometimes all of them at once.
That requires more than choosing outdoor furniture.
Depending on the project, Outdoor Living may include space planning, outdoor kitchen design, cabinetry and countertop selections, appliance coordination, lighting, material and finish direction, furniture layouts, outdoor furniture and textiles, dining areas, bar spaces, poolside living areas, accessories, and styling.
For spaces connected to a larger renovation or new construction project, we can also consider how exterior living areas relate to the home's architecture and interiors from the beginning — allowing materials, sightlines, circulation, and gathering spaces to feel connected rather than resolved independently.
Our firsthand residential construction experience informs the way we approach those decisions, helping us think beyond the finished image to how materials meet, dimensions work, and design intent translates into something that can actually be built.
