Interior Designer in Anna Maria Island, Florida
A home by the water should feel like an escape — not an interpretation of one.
Soulspace Collective provides residential interior design on Anna Maria Island for renovations, new construction, vacation homes, and thoughtfully reimagined properties throughout Anna Maria, Holmes Beach, and Bradenton Beach.
Our approach brings together interior design, space planning, material selection, furnishings, and firsthand residential construction experience to create homes that respond to the realities of island living while still feeling deeply individual.
Because designing a home here isn't simply about making it feel coastal. It's about understanding how the home will actually be lived in — wet feet and open doors, visiting family and full houses, quiet mornings and long weekends, rental guests or generations returning to the same place year after year.
We design for all of it.
The result is a home that belongs to the island without becoming a version of every other house on it.
Designed for life between the Gulf and the Bay.
Anna Maria Island has a character worth paying attention to. Its seven-mile stretch includes the cities of Anna Maria, Holmes Beach, and Bradenton Beach, with an architectural landscape that ranges from older beach cottages and established island homes to waterfront properties and elevated new construction.
That variety is part of what makes designing here interesting.
Rather than beginning with an idea of what an “island home” should look like, we begin with the property itself. Its architecture. The light. The views. How people arrive from the beach. Where everyone gathers. What needs to withstand daily use. What deserves to be preserved — and what is keeping the home from working as well as it could.
For a full-time residence, those questions might center around everyday routines and longevity. For a second home, they may be about creating a place where everyone immediately settles in. And for a vacation rental, the home has to balance durability, intuitive function, memorable character, and the experience of people who may only inhabit it for a week.
The setting matters. But the people living within it matter more.
Island living deserves more than an island theme.

How We Work
RenovationsWe reimagine existing Sarasota homes through thoughtful space planning, interior architectural decisions, cabinetry, lighting, materials, and furnishings — considering what deserves to remain, what needs to evolve, and how the home can better support the way you live now.
New ConstructionInterior design is most powerful when it begins early. We work alongside the larger project team to consider layouts, cabinetry, lighting, materials, finishes, furnishings, and the small decisions that determine how a newly built home will ultimately function and feel.
Vacation Homes + RentalsIsland properties need to work hard without feeling designed around performance alone. We create vacation homes and short-term rentals around durability, gathering, intuitive function, guest experience, and a distinct sense of place — creating spaces people want to return to rather than another predictable coastal interior.
Coastal character without the coastal costume.
Being surrounded by water doesn't dictate an aesthetic.
We can acknowledge where a home is without filling it with literal references to where it is. The connection can be quieter — natural materials that age beautifully, colors pulled from something less expected, spaces designed around bare feet and open doors, or an old architectural detail that gives a renovated home some tension against something new.
The goal isn't to remove the informality that makes an island home feel good.
It's to give that ease more intention.
We pay attention to the obvious decisions, but also to the small margins: where sandy shoes actually land, whether ten people can move through the kitchen when everyone arrives at once, the material transition that takes the abuse of indoor-outdoor living, or the sightline that determines whether your eye lands on the television or the water.
Because relaxed and highly considered aren't opposites.
Good design is alignment.
Whether we're designing a full-time residence, vacation home, or investment property on Anna Maria Island, we don't begin with a prescribed aesthetic.
We begin by paying attention.
How will this home actually be used? Who comes here? Where does everyone gather after the beach? What happens when family stays for a week? Which spaces need quiet? What needs to withstand heavy use? Which view deserves to become part of the room? And what would make being here feel different from being anywhere else?
Those answers become physical decisions — layout, proportion, cabinetry, lighting, materials, storage, furniture, color, texture, and the details that shape how the home is experienced.
Because good design, to us, is alignment — between beauty and function, place and personality, the realities of everyday life and the feeling you want your home to create.
The goal isn't to design an Anna Maria Island house.
It's to design your house on Anna Maria Island.
