An older property might have proportions, materials, or architectural details worth preserving alongside decades of decisions that no longer make sense. A renovation might need to establish a clearer relationship between old and new. A newly built home may need the layers and personality that architecture alone can't provide.

We're more interested in what makes one memorable.
Maybe it's an unexpected material. Art that changes the energy of an otherwise quiet room. A color that technically wasn't the “safe” choice. Something old beside something unapologetically new. Or an architectural condition that could have been hidden but becomes the thing that gives the space identity.
None of those decisions exist in isolation.
We still pay attention to proportion, circulation, sightlines, durability, lighting, construction, and the small margins that determine whether an idea works beyond the photograph.
Because personality without intention becomes noise.
But intention without personality can become forgettable.
The sweet spot is a home that works beautifully — and still has something to say.
Good design is alignment.
Having a point of view doesn't mean designing a home around a trend, a style label, or our personal taste.
It means understanding yours.

To us, good design is alignment — between beauty and function, architecture and personality, what you instinctively love and the way you actually live.

In Florida, some of the most-used spaces in a home aren't entirely indoors.
Outdoor kitchens, covered terraces, dining areas, poolside spaces, and exterior gathering areas can function as true extensions of the interior — but only when they're considered with the same level of intention.
We think about circulation between inside and out, furniture layouts, cooking and dining zones, lighting, materials, durability, storage, sightlines, and how the exterior space relates visually to the architecture and interiors beyond it.
For a recent St. Petersburg outdoor kitchen project, that meant treating the exterior space not as an accessory to the home, but as another place for everyday life to happen.
Because adding square footage isn't the only way to make a home live larger.
